Conditions for Admission

  1. Conditional Guaranteed Admission (CGA)
    Admission is guaranteed if the conditions listed are fulfilled.
  2. 45 transferable credits
  3. English proficiency: IELTS: Score of an overall band of 6.5 or higher OR TOEFL: Score of 79 (internet-based) or 550 (paper-based) OR Engl101 and Engl126/7/8 with 3.0 or better
  4. If you have more than 44 college credit hours, then you must have a minimum college 2.0 GPA (4.0 system) and be eligible to return to the institution(s) attended.
  5. If you have 30-44 college credit hours, then you must have a minimum college 2.25 GPA (4.0 system) and be eligible to return to the institution(s) attended.
  6. If you have fewer than 30 college credit hours, then you must have graduated from an accredited high school, have a minimum college 2.5 GPA (4.0 system) and be eligible to return to the institution(s) attended, and have a SAT/ACT score and high school class rank as required for UNT freshmen.
  7. Minimum Green River Grade Point Average (GPA) is 2.0

NOTE: This conditional guarantee pertains to general University of North Texas admission, but not necessarily to all majors at the university. Some colleges or schools have higher admission requirements.

  • Transferable credits - These refer to college-level courses which generally transfer to universities. Most but not all academic classes numbered 100 or higher transfer. Read 104 and Engl 100 are two commonly-taken Green River courses numbered 100 or higher that do not transfer. Classes numbered lower than 100 are considered developmental courses and do not transfer. Most college students can earn 90 transferable quarters in two years, although they may need a summer quarter to do so.
