Foundation for Success Expanded for All Intensive English Students
Starting fall 2013 all new students enrolled in the Intensive English Language Program will be required to take Foundation for Success (FFS). Program students are paired with Peer Mentors during their first quarter. The FFS program was initially designed for 16 & 17 year old students to help them get a strong start at Green River. It was so successful that we have expanded the program to all new Intensive English Language Program students. The cost for FFS is $100. Learn more about the Foundation for Success program.
Many Activities Available for International Students
We want you to get involved in activities while studying at Green River. Research shows that involved students attain a better grade point average than students not involved in college life. Enjoying time away from the classroom is an important part of the learning experience in American Higher Education.
Many social, physical and cultural activities are available. A full time activities coordinator helps students find the right activity for them. From sports events to rock music to sightseeing tours, Green River plans something exciting for every week of the year.
Examples of Social Activities
- 25 student clubs
- Student Government
- Day trips
- Weekend travel opportunities
- Community Volunteer opportunities
Examples of Physical Activities
- Soccer (football)
Examples of Cultural Activities
- International Week
- Art Gallery
- Children's Theater
- Jazz Festival
If you don't find the activity you want, the professional student activities team will find your desired activity. New ideas are developed annually from ideas presented by new students. Find more information on Student Life activities.
