Kanykey Murzubraimova

SUSI 2015

In an effort to promote awareness and understanding of American culture, Kanykey organized a series of community sessions to educate community members on the subject. The very first session was held on a Saturday at the regional library in her city, and approximately 100 people from the whole city (school pupils, students, other speakers, university scholars and school advisors) turned out to learn more about the life and culture of Americans, including typical food, clothes, students and teenager activities, etc. Over the next two months, Kanykey held sessions for teens aged 14-15 in the assembly hall of a local hotel every other Saturday. In addition to these cultural sessions, Kanykey has been tutoring students in English and continues to do so on a regular basis.
