Coordinator for Intl. Recreation & Activities
Hello, my name is Marc. I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. Growing up, I played a variety of organized sports including football, baseball, track & field, basketball, soccer and rowing. These days, I try to get outside whenever I can to run, hike or swim. I also love watching sporting events and am always interested in learning about different cultures through sports, especially rugby, cricket and sumo.
As much as I love sports, I think I love food even more. I’m always in search of a great place to eat, and a new favorite dish. Some of my current favorites include Okonomiyaki, Boerewors, Biltong and Korvapuusti.
I attended Pacific Lutheran University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in Political Science. In high school and university, I had the opportunity to study abroad a total of six times. After graduation, I continued to travel, and have now visited over 30 counties. My travels eventually took me to Japan, where I taught English in the Japanese public schools for 7 ½ years.
Returning from Japan to a career in International Education, my goal is to bring my passion for sports, travel and education to the International Programs office at Green River College.
