Part-time International Student Advisor
Nitivia Jones grew up in Los Angeles, California and earned her bachelor’s degree in Language Studies from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Her dream was to live abroad, learn another language and integrate into a foreign culture, so she joined the Peace Corps and went to the Republic of Georgia. After two years there, she spent a year and a half as the English Program Coordinator at an educational non-profit in Guatemala City where she assisted children in need in achieving scholarly goals. She returned to the US in order to earn her Master’s degree in Cross-Cultural and International Education in Bowling Green, Ohio. After that, she spent two years teaching English at a top university in Istanbul, Turkey. Now, Nitivia is very happy to be helping international students at GRC explore their academic and intercultural goals. She speaks conversational Spanish, Georgian, and a little Turkish.
