Academic Student Information
Academic Registration Begins Soon
Registration for summer AND fall quarters begins on Monday, May 5. Don't
forget to register.
- Check your
registration access time to find out when you can register
for summer and fall. You will need your student ID and PIN
(available in IP if you do not have one)
- Summer class schedules are available in the IP office and
throughout campus
- Use
Schedule Planner to check for the most up-to-date class
schedule information and to register for summer and fall
- If you need an entry code to register for a class,
please come to the IP office
- You may have a block on your registration if you
owe any outstanding tuition balances or fines (library,
bookstore, etc.). Please pay these balances before May 5th to
avoid delays in your registration! Bring any receipts to the
IP office once you have paid the balances so we can remove
your registration block.
- If you are required to register for classes with an
advisor in the IP office because of some other block, please
come in as soon as you are permitted to register. Do not wait
until the end of the quarter!
Early Fall
In addition to the summer and fall quarters, GRCC has
also added "Early Fall". Early Fall consists of a
limited selection of one, two, and four week courses offered
between August 18 and September 12. More information

Annual Schedule
The
Annual Schedule of classes is now available online.
GRCC Student Email Accounts
Green River student email accounts are now available to
students! You can use this
link to set up your account. More
information on how to set up your account can be found by

First time setup instructions.
Starting in fall quarter, all email communication will be
through your GRCC email account.
University Transfer Information
Scholarship Opportunity
University of Nevada, Reno is currently taking applications
for the International Student Award. To find out information on
the criteria and application instructions please view the
International Student Award.
Transfer Workshop-Transitioning to the University
Monday, May 12 from 12:00-2:00 pm at SC 101
How can you prepare yourself to transfer to a university? You will
be entering a new environment and starting a new social life.
Come get some tips for success as you prepare for your
transition.
A Notice about Graduation
The graduation ceremony will be help off campus at the White
River Amphitheater this year. International Programs will
provide bus transportation for all graduates and their families.
If you would like to sign up for the bus, please go to the front
desk of the Administration Building (near the bus circle/flag
pole). You will need to provide your student ID number.
Availability is on a first come, first serve basis, so sign up
soon. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, June 10. The busses
will leave campus at 5:00pm and return when the ceremony and
festivities have ended.
Taking a Quarter Off
This is an early reminder about what to do if you are planning
to take a quarter off.
- You must take at least 12 credits during summer quarter unless you have been authorized
by an IP advisor to take a vacation.
- If you would like to return home for a quarter or stay in
the US and take less than 12 credits, you must see an advisor
first. If you do not see an advisor first, you may be out of
status with immigration.
- If you are not registering for any classes during a
quarter, you need to pay for your GRCC health insurance in the
IP office by the first day of the quarter.
IESL Announcements
Institutional TOEFL Test Sign Up
The Institutional TOEFL test is on Saturday, May 3. You can sign up for the
test in IVA-101. Make sure to bring your student ID and
$25 (cash). If you have already signed up, please remember
to bring your photo ID on the day of the test.
High School Plus
If you
plan to complete the High School Program by summer 2008,
you need to sign up for the SAT as soon as possible.
Extended Bridge
The Extended Bridge Program is not available in summer quarter.
Make an appointment with Debbie VanHoy if you are interested in
taking the Extended Bridge Program in fall quarter.
Peer Volunteer Applications Available
Peer Volunteer and Peer Volunteer Leader applications
for summer and fall quarters are now being accepted. Application
forms and additional details about the job can be picked
up at the front desk in the IP office.
Applications are due no later than
Friday, May
16th at 5:00 pm.
Volunteers must meet the following
requirements:
- Have attended GRCC for at least two quarters by
the start of the program
- Plan to attend GRCC for at least two more quarters
after the start of the program
- Be a good role model for new international
students
- Have a positive attitude and a desire to learn
more about leadership and helping others
- In addition to the above requirements, leaders
must have completed at least one quarter as a Peer
Volunteer.
Update on Summer and Fall Quarter Start Dates
Summer quarter classes begin on Monday, June 23, and the 8
week session ends on Thursday, August 14.
Fall quarter classes begin on Monday, September 22 and end on
Monday, December 11.
Volunteer Opportunity
Volunteering is a fun way to meet new people and enjoy the
communities around us. What better way to get outside this
summer than to promote the benefits of Green River to potential
students at local community fairs? You have the option of
volunteering for the following community events: Maple Valley
Days, Kent Cornucopia Days, River Renton Days, Covington Days,
Good Ole Days and the Puyallup Fair.
There are many shifts and options available. All volunteers will
receive a Green River t-shirt and free passes to the Puyallup

ASGRCC Elections
Monday, May 5 to Friday, May 9
Voting booths will be open from 8:00 am -8:00 pm in TC, LSC,
SMT, and the Holman Library. Each student will receive a free candy
bar for placing a vote.
Drive-in Movie Night: Hairspray
Saturday, May 9 at the Enumclaw Exposition Center

Friday, May 16 at 7:30 pm in the Main Dining Area of the LSC.
This event is FREE for GRCC students. Reserved seating is
