Quyen Nguyen - Vietnam
Quyen Nguyen graduated from Green River Community College
in the fall of 2011. She is attending the University of Washington
and majoring in accounting and
"Coming to GRCC was one of the most important decisions I have ever made.
GRCC has great programs like transfer, High School Completion, and IESL.
The college has helpful and nice faculty
and advisors who helped me transfer to a top university.
GRCC is a friendly environment for international students.
There are many international students from different countries and cultures, as well as American students.
I participated in many activities on campus like volunteering, working,
and attending events. I worked for the International Programs Office as a student marketing assistant and student receptionist. I
gained great experience from those two positions.
Green River gave me the foundation
I needed to transfer to the University of Washington, Tacoma. I am
not only a recipient of a business scholarship from the Milgard School of Business of UWT for 2011-12.
I was also honored to be chosen as the first
recipient of the Mark and DeLaine
Emmert Transfer Scholarship
2011. I was so surprised and happy when I got the letter from GRCC Foundation. I felt like what I did at GRCC
was worth every effort. I believe
that I chose the right path towards
GRCC is a good place that I'd like to recommend to everyone because "You can go anywhere from Green River."
