Foundation/Gap Year Program
The Foundation Year at Green River provides an opportunity for you to
study abroad in the United States during the "gap year" between
secondary education and university. Depending upon the courses taken and
the policies of the receiving university, some of these courses may be
transferable.

The Foundation Year program is designed to provide flexibility and opportunities for self-discovery and academic development. Your educational advisor will meet with you to plan an individualized course of study based on your academic interests and level of English proficiency.
Experience US College Life
We encourage you to participate in a wide variety of campus activities including: recreational or intercollegiate sports, student government, concerts, plays, or KGRG - a real radio station run by students. You can also use any of our campus facilities including the library, bookstore, cafeteria, fitness center, and gym with basketball and volleyball courts and a weightlifting room.

Student leaders organize a variety of off-campus trips including shopping and restaurants in Seattle, attending professional sporting events like the Mariner's baseball and Sounders soccer games, snowboarding, river rafting, overnight stays at ocean beaches, and hiking at Mt. Rainier.
