and cultural activities. Select the sightseeing and fun activities that
you want to participate in. Options may include river rafting, hiking
on Mount Rainier, Wild Waves Water Park, shopping, baseball games, visiting
University of Washington, volunteering -- and much more.
Home stay with Host Family (includes meals) $1,100
Home stays offer experience living with an American family and an
opportunity to share our customs and culture, participate in household
activities, and practice English skills. Students are provided a
fully furnished private room and U.S. style meals. This means that
food is available for self-prepared breakfasts and lunches. The
main daily meal, usually dinner, is prepared and shared together
with the family. Transportation to and from campus varies; most
families are on a convenient bus line within 45 minutes to Green
River. Bus tickets are not included. Some families drive students
to and from campus daily. The Host Family provides Airport greeting
and transfers, a first visit to the campus, a long distance telephone
card to get started.
On Campus Student Housing (meals not included) $1,000
At Campus Corner Apartments, students experience traditional American
college life. Students enjoy a convenient, on-campus location; comfortable,
high quality facilities; an excellent study environment; and an
opportunity to get involved and make friends. Apartments are generally
four private bedrooms with shared bathrooms, kitchen and living
area. Move-in kits with bed sheets, blanket, pillow and basic kitchen
utensils are also supplied.
Students are required to have health insurance. Students can buy it
from the college for $186 per quarter or show proof of their own health
insurance from your home country. Proof of personal health insurance
must be presented by June 22, in English, and must indicate the following:
Medical coverage per accident or sickness of at least $50,000
Deductible per accident or sickness of no more than $100
Repatriation coverage of at least $10,000
Insurance cards must be usable in the USA and have a US billing address
