“After studying English (IESL) at Green River for a year, I then studied another 2 years in the academic program. In 2013, I transferred to UC Berkeley. I am now pursuing further education at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, the #1 School of veterinary medicine in the world. I cannot describe how much I appreciate Green River College. I would not have been able to make it this far without my time at GRC.” ...more

Study English at an intensive pace

Green River College's Intensive English Program is for international students who want to prepare for academic study at American colleges and universities. We offer small classes and personal attention from highly qualified instructors.

Prepare for transfer to American universities

Levels 1 - 3: Basic English - Kent Campus
Students focus on strengthening their basic English skills in the first three levels of English classes. These classes are held at our Kent Campus.
Levels 4 - 5: Academic Prep - Main Campus
Students focus on getting ready for Academic classes in level four and five. These classes are held on the main Green River College campus in Auburn.

Our advanced level offers academic preparation classes and opportunities for students to experience regular college classes.  Most students who enroll in our Intensive English Program continue their academic study at Green River College for two years, then transfer to a four-year university in the U.S. to complete their bachelor's degree. Our students have transferred to University of Washington, University of Southern California, Purdue University, University of Michigan, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and many other excellent American universities.
