placement priority is based on receipt
of completed housing application and
placement fee. Our popular Campus Corner
Apartments fill every quarter and have
a waiting list. So, get your spot now
for fall quarter!
Involvement – Key to a successful
Study Abroad Experience
“Students involved in the life of
the campus tend to be successful in
their academic studies.” These are the
finding of a study by Alexander Astin
at UCLA. Listed below are some of the
many ways to become involved in campus
life at Green River.
- Sports and Intramurals
-Play on one of the eleven
intercollegiate sports teams or
turn-out for an intramural sport
after classes are over for the
day. There are campus fitness
facilities and campus walking
paths through the forest. There
is something for everyone
regardless of skill level. Just
have fun!
- Excursions and trips - The Student
Life Office will plan a number of
excursions and trips during the
year. You will have a chance to
visit the sights of Seattle, the
slopes of Whistler, the warmth of
Hawaii or California and the beauty
of the Puget Sound. On the weekend
explore Mount Rainer or try a new
adventure sport such as mountain
biking or sailing.
- Volunteer in the community
-
There are many opportunities to
volunteer in the local community
- everything from environmental
beautification to assisting grade
school children to learn to read.
You’ll feel better from your experience.
- Student Life Office -Every week
the Student Life Office arranges
a full schedule of activities and
events. Participate in musical events,
plays, artist series, and trips.
You can also be involved in student
government, write for the campus
paper, sing in the choir, work in
the college radio station and even
start your own activity or program.
For example… a new student started
a Cricket Club started this year.
When you arrive on campus there will
be a full orientation program during
which all of the activities and programs
will be highlighted. You will be invited
to participate. So ….it is up to you
to make the decision to become involved.
