GRCC graduates transfer to top universities
all over the U.S.
With almost 85 percent
of its students intending to transfer
to four-year institutions, Green River
Community College offers comprehensive
support services to help students get
into top transfer universities. These
support services range from a dedicated
ESL program to the development of an
individualized degree plan and one-on-one
advising. By completing their first
two years at Green River, students not
only save money on tuition but also
lay the foundation for their subsequent
success at a bachelors institution.
Since the early 2000s, almost
2,700 Green River students have been
accepted to four-year institutions all
over the United States, including schools
such University of California-Berkeley,
UCLA, John Hopkins, University of Michigan,
University of Wisconsin, and George
Washington University. The
top five institutions accepting GRCC
transfer students are Indiana University-Bloomington,
the University of Washington, Washington
State University, Seattle University,
and Ohio State. Many Green River alumni
also go on to attend highly-ranked master's
and PhD programs after earning their
bachelor's degrees.
One of GRCC's strategies has been
to develop close partnerships, including
conditional guaranteed admission agreements,
with four-year institutions to help
ease the transfer process. They also
hold international transfer fair that
hosts representatives from over 70 universities
from all over the US.
