Green River men’s basketball ranked eighth, head into NWAACC Crossover Tournament

Green River men’s basketball ranked eighth.

The Green River men's basketball team (5-2) received some good news as fall quarter finals began on Monday, when it was announced that the team was ranked eighth in the first Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges coaches' poll of the season.

Road victories over perennial power Spokane Community College and Oregon opponents Clackamas and Umpqua earned the Gators the pre-season respect.

Head Coach Tim Malroy will get his first chance to show off the team to the home crowd this weekend as Green River plays host to the Western Region Crossover tournament Friday through Sunday. The campus will welcome teams from Yakima Valley, South Puget Sound, Wenatchee Valley, Everett, Lane, Portland and Olympic colleges.

The tournament action opens on Friday, Dec.14, at 12:30 p.m., when Green River will face Portland Community College at 7:00 p.m.
