YouthBuild

YouthBuild is a national education and training model which serves at-risk youth between the ages of 16* and 24. YouthBuild offers young people a chance to change their future by teaching soft skills for success, completing high school equivalency requirements, training in Construction Skills to earn industry certifications for further training and high-wage employment, and providing case management support.

Green River College is in the planning stage for developing a new YouthBuild program to serve the South Puget Sound areas. We are actively seeking partnerships in this endeavor with the goal of submitting a proposal this 2017 grant cycle. (See downloadable resources below)

YouthBuild USA offers support to individual YouthBuild Programs designed to achieve the following results:

  • Ensure quality programming with fidelity to the model and philosophy
  • Build accountability for student outcomes and community impact
  • Generate innovative program enhancements
  • Produce tangible community assets - housing, schools, infrastructure, etc.
  • Support long-term development of ethical young leaders
