Kelly Eisenhour received her B.Mus. in Vocal Performance from Berklee College of Music, and her M.Mus. in Jazz Studies, Composition and Performance from the University of Utah. Kelly has taught at Green River College since 2008, previously directing the vocal jazz program at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She was voted “Distinguished Faculty” by her Green River colleagues in 2011, and teaches a variety of music classes, including directing the Green River Jazz Voices, an award-winning jazz choir, most recently receiving a 1st place ranking at the Reno Jazz Festival in 2019. As a professional singer, Kelly has released a number of jazz albums, the latest in March 2022 titled "I Just Found Out About Love” featuring Jeff Hamilton, Tamir Hendleman, and Christoph Luty.
Previously, her album "Seek and Find," featuring Bob Mintzer, reached #14 on the national JazzWeek charts, and remained in the top 100 for 7 months. In her early career as a full-time vocalist Kelly enjoyed long-running singing engagements in Las Vegas production shows, performing in numerous national and international jazz festivals, and touring as a guest soloist with the Boston Pops.
She performed for a number of years as a backup vocalist with Gladys Knight and participated in the 2006 Grammy award winning gospel choir album, “Gladys Knight: One Voice,” where she served as songwriter, soloist, co-arranger, and assistant choir director.

Sam Krahn, Ph.D.

Sam Krahn is a composer, guitarist, performer, and teacher. Sam received a Ph.D. in music composition from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, a M.Mus. in music composition from Roosevelt University, and a B.Mus. in classical guitar performance from Boston University.
His works have been performed by members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Zeitgeist New Music Ensemble, TAK Ensemble, Ensemble Dal Niente, Duo Gelland, the Cascade Quartet, the Acute Trio, the Artemis Vocal Ensemble, Strains New Music Ensemble, the Virginia Tech New Music Ensemble, the Gregorian Singers, Benjamin Cold, Bent Duo, and many others. In December of 2015, his first musical comedy, An Evening with Krampus was premiered in a 5-show run at the Phoenix Theater in Minneapolis.
Sam is a founding member of the Minneapolis composer collective 113. He also founded the Montana Improvisers Orchestra in Great Falls, Montana, and directed the ensemble from 2016-2018.
Dr. Krahn joined the music department at Green River College in 2018 and currently teaches the music theory and computer music courses.

Ruth Mueller, Ph.D.
Ethnomusicology and Music History

Has a PhD in Ethnomusicology from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom where she focused on South Korean traditional music. She comes to Ethnomusicology from a vocal studies background and holds a Masters of Music, Classical Voice Performance (University of Nevada, Reno) and a Bachelors of Music, Classical Voice Performance (Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville) and has taught at universities and performed in North America, Europe, and East Asia.
She sings with the Tacoma Symphony Chorus, is the President of the Association for Korean Music Research, and Co-Chair of the Society for Ethnomusicology Section on the Status of Women.
Dr. Mueller joined Green River College in 2018 and currently teaches classes in world and popular musics and leads our Korean drumming ensemble.
