Learn Arabic at GRC

Learning a second language can be incredibly beneficial and rewarding. It opens you up to new experiences and perspectives, allows you to communicate with new people, helps you when you travel, and is a valuable job skill and resume builder.

At Green River College, we offer three Arabic courses: Arabic 121, Arabic 122, and Arabic 123. Our goal is to help our students study and learn the language by teaching the Arab culture in addition to the four essential language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students will develop the ability to speak, understand, read and write the Arabic language and will also expand their knowledge of the Middle East.

Our students can also study abroad through the critical language scholarship program offered by the United States Department of State. This way, the students can learn more about the colloquial dialects spoken in different Arab countries, the culture and heritage of the area, and can communicate with local people. This is a great opportunity for students who plan to visit a country or a region where Arabic is spoken or for those who plan to work there after finishing their studies.
