Our admission process is simple, fast, and convenient. We offer four program start dates each year: fall, winter, spring, and summer. See Dates and Deadlines for details.

GRC student housing in Campus Corner Apartments and homestay is full for the winter term. If you have your own housing or would like to live in Divine Court Apartments (DCA), we will review your application for the winter term. If you want to live in GRC student housing, please apply for the spring term. Classes start on April 1, 2025.


Admission Requirements:

Applicants must be 16 years old by Arrival & Housing Move-in date

Please upload all required documents to our secure portal above.

  • Completed application
  • Financial/Bank Statement in English showing at least U.S. $22,800 for one year of study.
    • The Financial/Bank Statement may include checking or savings accounts, stocks, certificates of deposit, or other easily liquidated assets. It must be in English and less than one year old. Please tell us the relationship between the account holder (sponsor) and the student. 
  • $50 non-refundable application fee
  • Copy of valid passport
  • Medical Release Form
  • School transcripts, if available.

Official high school and 9th grade transcripts are required for High School Completion Program  - you can bring these with you when you arrive.

English Proficiency Requirements:

Please review our English proficiency requirements to determine your academic readiness.

Important note: You do not need an English proficiency test score to apply to Green River.  An advisor will reach out to you to schedule an English proficiency placement test before you arrive. This test will show whether you are qualified to start in the academic program or transition to academic classes through our Academic Prep or IEP classes

Housing Placement:

Students under the age of 18 must live in GRC student housing or request a policy exception.

16 years old on the first day of classes -  required to live with a school-approved host family until they turn 17 
17 years old on the first day of classes - required to live in GRC student housing (CCA, DCA, or homestay).
Students may request a policy exception if they want to live with friends or family.

  • Review GRC international student housing options
  • Pay the $300 placement fee - required for students under 18 who apply for GRC student housing. We will refund this fee upon request if you cannot attend GRC. 

Housing fills quickly. Only students who paid the housing placement fee will be added to the waiting list.

Step 2: Receive I-20 Form

After we review your application and required documents, we will notify you of next steps by email. If admitted, we will email you the acceptance letter and I-20 Form, the official document that confirms your acceptance as an international student in the USA.

Step 3: F-1 Visa Interview

You must bring your acceptance letter and I-20 Form to the visa interview at the U.S. consular office in your home country.

Step 4: Arrival in the USA

 When you enter the U.S., show the immigration officer:

  • Your I-20 form
  • Your passport with a valid student visa

Admissions Policy

New international students who use Green River's I-20 to enter the U.S. must:

  • Report in person to Green River's orientation for new international students
  • Enroll for and attend the first quarter at Green River.
  • Present originals of passport, visa, and Green River I-20*
  • Carry health insurance while enrolled at Green River

*International students transferring from other U.S. schools must present their most recent I-20 instead of a Green River I-20.
