LGBTQ Resources

For many students, college provides a beautiful time and opportunity for exploring a multitude of identities, which includes (but not limited to) sexual identity, gender expression, and more.

Green River College supports and enhances a brave, affirming, liberatory and celebratory environment for students, faculty, staff, and alumni of all sexual and gender orientations, identities, and expressions and is committed to creating safe and inclusive environments for all members of the LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, trans, non-binary, queer and beyond) community whether you are out or not yet able to be out.

This resource page provides resources for support, advocacy, campus involvement and information for the queer community and their allies to be successful at GRC.

At Green River College, we are dedicated to understand the complexities of gender identities and commit to supporting people on how they want to be addressed and respected. We are working toward changing our systems to eliminate "preferred" language and changing to "chosen" regarding names. While we cannot exclusively change the language used on state management systems (ctcLink, Canvas, etc.), we are working with the SBCTC to shift this language statewide as well.

Please know this is a priority to us and we are working behind the scenes to ensure greater understanding and systematic change.
