Admissions Application

Applying to Colleges can be a confusing process. For step-by-step instructions on the application, visit WA Community and Technical Colleges Application Instructions.

We've gathered some helpful information to assist you as you complete the application. Click on each section below to find tips and tricks that will aid in creating and completing your admissions application.

  • Before beginning you will need to create an account on the “Online Admissions Application portal” <<hyperlink to: SBCTC - OAA User Log in>>
  • If you've previously applied for Running Start, you already have a login for the application. Login with the same credentials or you can reset your password.
  • Use a personal email address that you check regularly. It is highly recommended that you use the same email address on the admissions application and the Grad to Gator Sign Up form. DO NOT use your high school student email address on the application. You won't have access to that email after you graduate high school.
  • As part of your account creation, you will set up security questions. It is highly recommended to write down your security questions and answers in a secure place.
  • A one-time password is emailed to you. Make sure to check your spam folder for the email in case it is sent there.

  • *For the “Program” drop down choices, you will choose either Academic or Professional Technical.

  • Choose “Academic” if you plan to transfer to another college after earning your Associate's degree at GRC.
    • Choose “Professional Technical” if you want to focus on training for a specific career, if your goal is to get a job or increase your skills, or you want to earn one of our Bachelor's degrees.
    • DO NOT choose the “Baccalaureate” option. Even if you plan to complete one of our Bachelor's degrees, you will still need to start with an Associate's degree.
  • *For the “Degree or Certificate I am Seeking” drop down choices, you won't need to worry too much about what the acronyms mean but there is an explanation section at the bottom of that page.

  • Choose a category that could encompass your program of choice, or choose “Academic Transfer DTA” if you are not sure. This category encompasses many of our transfer degrees. You can always change your degree choice later if your academic goals change.
  • For the “Academic Focus Area”, your degree choice may bring up academic concentrations you can choose from but this field is not required.
  • In the Personal Information section, a Social Security Number (SSN) is not required to submit your application, however, we will need it to process your financial aid package so we highly recommend including it at this time.
  • *In the High School Information section, the “Attended From” is the date you started at your High School. The “Attended To” will be your Graduation date from your High School. College information is only required if you previously completed college credits.

  • In the Residency section, your responses do not affect your consideration for admission, but we may ask for supporting documentation at a later date.

  • Your application should be processed within 7-10 business days
  • You will receive a Letter of Admission via email from otr@greenriver.edu. This letter will include your ctcLink ID number, aka student ID number. Make sure to save this email and ID number for your records.
  • If you have questions regarding your application or need to update any information, please contact our Office of the Registrar at otr@greenriver.edu
