Paying for College
There are additional financial support options available through our campus partners. You can review the sections below for more information based on your military status/eligibility.
Financial Aid
In addition to utilizing your VA educational benefits, you are also encouraged to apply for financial aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA will determine your eligibility for all federal, state, and institutional funding. This means you can concurrently receive and use your VA benefits and financial aid (if eligible) toward your educational expenses. Scholarships

Military Tuition Assistance for Active Duty Service Members
There are military tuition assistance programs offered through each branch of service. For more specific information on requirements and how to apply, please refer to your branch of service linked below:
Active-duty servicemembers using military tuition assistance receive special tuition rates and follow a specific refund procedure. More information can be found on the Active Duty Tuition/Fees website. Questions can be directed to Student Financials (cashiers@greenriver.edu).
VIE25
Active-duty service members receive release time to attend school full-time to obtain a certificate or finish a degree in their last six (6) months of service. For more information about this program, please directly contact Workforce (workforce@greenriver.edu).
Education Benefits for Spouse/Children
Military spouses who meet specific criteria are eligible to participate in the MyCAA Scholarship program. Spouses of service members on Active Duty, under Title 10 orders Spouses of service members with pay grades of E-1 through E-5, W-1 through W-2, O-1 through O-2.

Tuition Reduction (Discounts)
As a military-connected student, you may also qualify for a tuition reduction of 10% through one of the state waivers programs. Additionally, eligible dependents (spouse or child) of 100% disabled veterans or those who died as a result of military service may qualify for the 100% tuition waiver. Military/Veteran Resident Tuition
Veterans and their spouse/child(ren) may be eligible to receive Washington State residency for tuition purposes if they meet certain requirements. Please directly contact the Office of the Registrar (otr@greenriver.edu) for more information on how to apply and documents to provide.
