Student Art Exhibition 2021

The 2021 Annual Green River Student Art Exhibition

A virtual exhibition presented by the Helen S. Smith Gallery May 1 – June 28, 2021

The Helen S. Smith Gallery is an academic resource for the Green River campus and regional art community.  The gallery highlights the media of the Fine Arts Division by presenting culturally engaging exhibitions by emerging and established Northwest Artists throughout the year.  The gallery also provides a catalyst for art students to engage with their first audience through our annual student art exhibition coming up this May.

The virtual Student Exhibition provides a special annual opportunity set aside for our art students to find their footing as exhibiting artists as many prepare to transfer to art schools in the fall, or gain confidence to continue with us to further develop a strong portfolio.  We are exceptionally proud of the work they do and are excited to present a snapshot, conceptually, of this year’s student experience.

In our gallery in her more than 50 year tenure, we have hosted a remarkable many of the NW greats who have celebrated national and international acclaim throughout their careers, some of which began with this very show. The student exhibition heralds as the annual crowning achievement for Green River art students. For many, it is a first-time exhibition of their work, an opportunity to make their voices heard, a method of self-expression and a moment of pride. Thank you to the campus community for an epic school year and for the support of our emerging artists this spring.
