Update on Tuition and Fees

Good News! The cost of tuition is staying the same for the 2015-2016 academic year. The slight increase is attributed to the rise in living expenses and books.

How to Pay your Tuition:

  • Tuition and fees are due after you register.
  • You may pay by credit card, cashier's check, money order, wire transfer, personal check (from a U.S. bank) or traveler's check. To pay by credit card, use the Credit Card Payment Authorization form.
  • If you cannot pay by the start of each quarter, it is important that you talk to an advisor before you register. A late fee is applied if tuition is not paid in a timely manner.
  • Prices effective fall 2015 through summer 2016
  • *Fees include $60 Technology, $63 Facilities, and $54 Special Services/Student Center
  • Tuition & fees based on 12 - 18 credits & varies according to classes and credits taken
  • International College Experience fee (one time fee, new academic-level students) = $100
  • Foundation for Success fee (one time fee) = $100
  • Intensive English Program tuition = $3,477
  • Health insurance is required and is available through Green River for $270 per quarter ($246 summer 2015)

Housing Costs

Health Insurance

You are required to have health insurance. You can buy it from the college for $270 ($246 summer 2015) per quarter.

  • For new students, Green River's health insurance coverage, The Lewer Agency Inc., begins when the student enters the U.S., up to 30 days before classes begin.
  • For current students, coverage begins the first day of the quarter.
  • Coverage for all students ends one day before the next quarter's classes begin.

You can bring proof of your own health insurance from your home country. Proof of personal health insurance must be presented by the first day of the quarter, in English, and must show the following:

  • Medical coverage per accident or sickness unlimited
  • Deductible per accident or sickness of no more than $100
  • Repatriation coverage unlimited


Green River College offers many International Student Scholarships to both new and current students. Scholarships are awarded as partial tuition waivers and on-campus work grants. Scholarship awards range from $250 to more than $500 and are dependent on the type and duration of the award.

Refund Policy

The $50 application fee is non-refundable. The $300 housing placement fee is refundable upon request if student cancels application 2 weeks prior to Housing/Move-in-Day or does not use the I-20 to enter the U.S. To request a refund, please complete the Refund Request Form.

Bachelor of Applied Science

International student tuition for the BAS program is $6,100 per quarter for 10-18 credits.

Applicants from Sweden

Please note that students from Sweden have received financial aid from Centrala Studiestödsnämnden (CSN) to attend Green River College.

Prepayment Policy

In order to ensure that applicants have the ability to finance their education in the US, Green River College reserves the right to require pre-payment of one quarter of tuition for students applying from countries experiencing severe economic difficulty.
