Alex Lee
Foundation for Success Program Specialist
Alex is a GRC alumnus and former FFS peer mentor from 2015 to 2017, where he took part in hiring and training new peer mentors prior to his graduation. It is his time in FFS that inspired him to pursue an education in East Asian Studies at Western Washington University and took part in their exchange program with Yokohama National University, where he gained a new perspective on the importance of being a peer mentor. After earning his degree, he returned to Japan to work as an English teacher in Toyama, Nagano, and Yokohama from 2021 to 2022. While loving his time in Japan, he was left reminiscing about his experience in FFS and wanted a change in career. Through the connections he made as a peer mentor, he was presented with the opportunity to return to GRC and make further contributions to FFS. Having carried his FFS experience with him throughout the years, he highly values the impact the program can have on people's lives and looks forward to being a part of it once again.
