College Signing Day

Congratulations on your journey to becoming a Green River Gator; it will soon be time to officially sign up for classes!

College Signing Day is an exciting day, where you get to visit GRC, meet other new Gators, meet your Advisor (you might know them as Counselors in high school, but in college they are called Advisors), learn about resources on campus, and get assistance enrolling in your first quarter classes. Bonus: you get to choose class days and times before other new students!

This year's College Signing Day will be held on Tuesday, May 13th and Wednesday, May 14th, 2025 but your high school will only attend on one of these days. Please check below for which day your school is scheduled to visit GRC. Below you will find the agenda for last year's event, as an example of what normally happens during College Signing Day; although it could change slightly for this year. Also below are important things to complete before attending, what to bring on the day, and more.

If you are unable to attend or don't finish enrolling into classes on College Signing Day, don't worry! - we will still be available throughout the summer to help you. Plus, we have several workshops at the end of summer to help you better prepare for your first quarter.

Other Information and To-Dos

Buses are provided by GRC. Please talk with your Career Center Specialist for more information on pickup and drop-off times at your school.

Lunch is provided by GRC. There will be vegan and gluten-free options. If you have other dietary needs outside of these options, please be prepared to bring a packed lunch with you. We do have microwaves available if you need one. Unfortunately our school cafeteria does not offer halal food at this time.

If you have any accommodation needs (i.e., in a wheelchair, need a translator, etc.) please contact our staff, Kristin Bulala, and we will try our best to provide accommodations. Email Kristin Bulala at kbulala@greenriver.edu

Face masks are not required but you are welcome to wear them.

  • Check with your high school Career Center Specialist to make sure you are on the field trip list. You don't want to miss out on this fun and helpful event!
  • IMPORTANT: Make sure to activate your ctcLink account. If you don't, this will hinder your ability to enroll in classes.
  • Make sure to complete your To Do list items in your ctcLink account as they may relate to Financial Aid, enrollment, and records updates. Your To Do list is located on your ctcLink homepage.
  • Find your ctcLink ID number, known as your student ID, and bring it with you; you will need it to enroll. Your ctcLink ID number is on your GRC Acceptance/Welcome email.
  • Complete online orientation. In your Acceptance/Welcome email there is a link to the online orientation. There are helpful videos that will prep you for college and registering for classes.
  • Research the degrees you are interested in so you come prepared with your choice (or a couple choices). It's important to know what degree you want to study when you enroll in classes. We don't want you taking and paying for classes that you don't need for your degree. Especially if you are getting Financial Aid, as they will only pay for the classes listed under your degree choice. If you still need help deciding, there are resources on our Career Services webpage geared for students exploring or undecided about their degree choice.
  • For Financial Aid: Continue to check your email and your ctcLink account for updates regarding the status of your financial aid and respond quickly to any requests for forms or documents from the Financial Aid Office. Financial Aid forms can be found online at the Financial Aid webpage on the Green River College website and can be:
  • Uploaded electronically to our office using our secure document upload tool OR…
  • Dropped off at our office in-person during our operating hours. If visiting the Financial Aid Office in-person, students must provide current government-issued, photo identification such as a driver's license, state ID, passport, green card, etc. to receive information about their financial aid.

  • Rain or shine, College Signing Day is happening! As always, be prepared for varying weather conditions that our wonderful state presents us with. Please dress appropriately for the day's weather and wear comfortable walking shoes as you will be moving around campus throughout the day.
  • Bring your ctcLink ID number
  • Bring a photo ID. This could be your high school ID card, your WA State ID card, or WA State drivers license; anything with your name and photo. You might need it to verify identification when enrolling or connecting with Financial Aid.

Not Able to Attend?

If something comes up and you are unable to attend College Signing Day, don't worry, we can still help you enroll in classes; you just won't get the benefit of priority enrollment. Students who miss College Signing Day will be emailed after the event with options of virtual opportunities to connect with Advisors and get assistance with enrollment. There will still be options for classes but we suggest you don't wait too long to enroll, otherwise classes will fill up and you don't want the stress of being put on a waitlist.

  • Continue to check your emails (both GRC and personal) for other upcoming Grad to Gator events throughout the summer, and any events hosted by GRC's Student Life. You are now a Gator, you can attend any of the college events for free or at little cost!
