About our program
MTX is an emerging profession emerging to supporting industry needs because advanced machinery and automated systems are playing increasing roles.
MTX students learn how to operate, maintain and repair modern industrial machinery. Green Rivers Maintenance Mechatronics Program is a hands-on, student-centered program. Students can choose their own path in multiple industries. We offer two stackable certificates in Machine Maintenance Proficiency. Certificate coursework can be applied towards the Maintenance Mechatronics Associate in Applied Science Degree.
What it is:
How it Works
Mechatronics is the study of the different types of energies that are used in machines. These energies are mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic. Our curriculum is focused on how computers are utilized to control advanced automated machine systems.
Course topics include safety, risk analysis, hydraulic energy, mechanical energy, pneumatic energy, electrical energy; common maintenance practices; systematic diagnostic methods.
Each energy topic is presented in the following format:
- Concepts
- Components
- Maps (Blueprints, schematics, etc.)
- Math

Skills to Keep Industry Moving
Aerospace is the primary target industry for our students. However, Aerospace has aspects of many different industries and our training opens doors across a wide spectrum of businesses. Equipment manufacturing, food processing, chemical processing, maritime occupations and construction are just a few of the potential employers for MTX graduates.
