Berlin is the largest city and capital of Germany, located in the northeastern region on the banks of the rivers Spree and Havel. With a population of approximately 3.7 million people, Berlin is a world city of culture, politics, media and science.  Modern Berlin is home to world renowned universities, orchestras, museums, entertainment venues and is host to many sporting events. The city is well known for its festivals, diverse architecture, nightlife, contemporary arts and a high quality of living.

You can be part of a group of students from Green River College, and other colleges, to spend spring quarter 2020 in Berlin while earning 15 credits. Students will take a course in German Life and Culture as well as two other classes that will be offered. Continue on with your studies while living in one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

Scholarships for Study Abroad


Students will earn 15 credits from Green River College, or their own sponsoring college. 

All students will take a course in German Life and Culture. This course will explore the culture of Germany, both historical and modern.

Students will sign up for two other classes that will be offered. These will be taught by Washington State faculty that will accompany the group. These classes will be determined at a later date.

Program Fees


Early Bird Discount: Apply by October 30 to save $100!

Program Fee Includes: Housing in twin-bed studios, Pre-departure and arrival orientation, Transit pass, Berlin sightseeing tour, Weekly outings, student medical insurance, 24-hour emergency contact service

Program fee does NOT include: Tuition, Airfare, Passport and Visa fees, Textbooks, Meals other than those listed as included, Personal expenses, Additional field trips or excursions.

Application Process

Minimum GPA requirement is 2.5 and age requirement is 18 years of age (or 17 with parental permission).
