Study Abroad in Japan

FALL 2024

September 23-December 3, 2024 (dates are subject to change)

15 college credits
Application Deadline: June 3, 2024
Payment Deadline:  June 24, 2024

Be part of a cohort group of 24-28 students from Green River College and other Colleges to live and study in Japan in this 10-week study abroad program. Earn 15 Green River transfer credits in Japanese Language, and two Art classes.

A Washington Community College faculty member will lead the group and teach the curriculum along with local Japanese faculty members.

Japan offers a rich environment of arts, culture and history where centuries-old traditions exist in contrast with ultra-modern life-styles. You will be based in the small city of Miyazaki, located on Kyushu island, and be hosted by Miyazaki Municipal University. Your faculty leader will lead two multi-day academic trips in Tokyo and in Kyoto.

COVID-19 Update:

COVID-19 vaccines and/or negative PCR tests are no longer required to enter Japan. It is recommended, but not mandatory, to have two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to participate in this program.

Pre-Departure Orientation Date: Satuday, August 3 from 10am-2pm at Green River College
