Unit Cleanliness

Cleanliness Before You Move In

All units that have a new resident will have a general cleaning of the bathrooms, living room, and kitchen as well as the empty bedrooms by our professional cleaning company. It is the responsibility of the current residents to maintain this cleaning until the new resident has moved in. It is the new resident's responsibility to report any problems at the time they move-in.

All new residents are encouraged to complete their on-line Unit Inspection within their MyHousing portal dashboard within five days of moving in.

Unit Cleanliness Expectations for All Residents

During the quarter, all residents are expected to keep the unit clean to Student Housing Standards.

  • The trash should be taken out to the dumpsters before they overflow or smell
  • Bedroom Floors should be kept swept/vacuumed and free of general clutter
  • Dishes should be kept cleaned and put away
  • Counters should be wiped and free of clutter
  • Bathrooms should be free of hair and toilets kept wiped down

How Residents Are Supported

To support unit cleanliness, residents can get cleaning supplies, including brooms, vacuums, chemicals, wipes and gloves from the office free of charge.

Common Stairwells and landings

Each month, our professional cleaning company will clean the common area stairwell and landings that are difficult to clean without a portable vacuum.

Unit Agreement

RA’s will meet with all residents during the first 2 weeks to help residents organize cleaning with residents and their suitemates through Unit Agreements.
