Apply to a Selective Admission Program
Some Green River programs require additional application steps beyond general admission. Certain programs of study, e.g., Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Science, and health sciences programs, have additional admission requirements and are considered “selective admissions” programs. Students must meet those separate application deadlines and entrance requirements as defined by each selective admissions program.
Learn which programs have selective admission requirements, what you'll need to apply, and how to prepare a strong application.
Academic and other programs may require additional criteria for admission based on the following:
- Demand exceeds supply of space in the program.
- Program accreditation requires additional criteria for admission or graduation.
- The program requires students to complete prerequisites prior to program admission.
Selective Admissions Programs
To be considered for programs with selective admissions, students must:
- Be admitted to the College under the General College Admissions procedure (complete our admissions application!).
- Refer to specific program requirements in the course catalog or on each program's website.
- Contact the department directly for an application packet.
- Submit all required paperwork by the program deadlines.
- Complete all required prerequisites.

Identity Verification
At the beginning of our admissions process, Green River College may reach out to you to verify your identity. Authenticating the identity of parties to whom we as an educational institution disclose education records, as required by FERPA, will help us to protect the privacy and security of student records. As we work directly with students starting with the admissions process, we as staff must be able to identify, beyond a reasonable doubt, to whom we are disclosing information. This is to protect the integrity of students data.
If your record gets flagged as requiring additional identity verification, please help us address this issue in a timely manner to avoid any delay in continuing your academic path at GRC. You are required to, within ten business days of this notification being sent, do the following:
- Meet with a staff member in the Office of the Registrar to present an official form of identification that includes address information that aligns with the address information you provided when you applied for admissions. See options for identification below.
If you are unable to verify in person, please email verifyaccount@greenriver.edu detailing your extenuating circumstances. If approved, a virtual appointment is available.
Green River College will use all information provided, found, or made available in an effort to confirm your identity and ensure you remain a student in good standing. Acceptable forms of documentation:
