Peer Institutions
Green River College (GRC) chose its state peer colleges from the other 33 community and technical colleges in Washington State. The peers were selected based on their relative size, demographics, and service area. The 8 peer colleges selected were Bellevue College, Clark College, Everett Community College, Highline College, Pierce College, Renton Technical College, Tacoma Community College, and Whatcom Community College.
GRC is still in the process of selecting its regional and national peer colleges. The regional schools will be selected from Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) accredited institutions using similar criteria to that which was used to select the state peer colleges. The current national peer college list and the corresponding comparison data shared below were provided by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) in GRC's 2023 Data Feedback Report.
This practice is consistent with the NWCCU Standard 1.B.2.

Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS)
Overview
IPEDS is a system of surveys by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and gathers information from every college, university, and technical and vocational institution that participates in the federal student financial aid programs. Under the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, institutions must report data on enrollments, program completions, graduation rates, faculty and staff, finances, institutional costs, and student financial aid.

College Navigator
College Navigator is a free consumer information tool which makes information gathered about postsecondary institutions by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) available to prospective college students, parents, guidance counselors, and the general public in an easily accessible manner. It presents a wide variety of information including programs offered, graduation and retention rates, the available types of aid, campus safety, accreditation, and approximate student expenses.

Voluntary Framework of Accountability (VFA)
Overview
The Voluntary Framework of Accountability (VFA) is the first comprehensive national accountability system created by community colleges, for community colleges and facilitated by the American Association of Community College (AACC). The VFA provides community colleges with a significantly improved ability to assess their performance, identify areas for improvement, and demonstrate their commitment to their mission.
The VFA data are vital to the college's ability to report outcomes based upon nationally
accepted measures of student progress and completion.
