This page offers a variety of gas and transportation resources available to students who need extra support getting to and from campus. Whether you need assistance with gas cards, public transit options, or carpool connections, we’re committed to helping you stay on track with your education.

Gasoline and Bus Vouchers

  • Salvation Army: A faith-based charity that assists with basic needs and gasoline/transportation assistance through case management.
  • Saint Vincent de Paul: A church that assists with basic needs through case management.

    • Pierce County: Helplines vary by zip code, check online
    • Case workers available for walk-ins Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, and Sun from 10am-3pm
  • Neighborhood House King County: A non-profit that provides transportation assistance through case management.

  • GasBuddy: Provides cash back and finds cheapest gas near the user.
  • Upside: Provides cash back and finds cheapest gas near user.
  • Exxon Mobil Rewards+: Save at least 5 cents a gallon at participating gas stations
  • Shell Fuel Rewards Program: Save at least 3 cents a gallon at participating gas stations
  • Fred Meyer/Kroger Rewards: Save up to $1 a gallon at participating gas stations.
  • SafeWay/Albertsons Rewards: Save up to $1 a gallon at participating gas stations.

Public Transportation
  • King County rideshare:
    • Vanpool: Sliding, monthly fee for 5+ people to share a ride if a trip
    • Vanshare: Flat, monthly fee for 5+ people to connect to public transport in King County.
    • Metro Flex: An on-demand minivan that can take the user anywhere in the service area.
    • King County ACCESS: Door-to- door transportation for those with disabilities that prevents them from riding traditional public transport.
    • Dial-A-Ride Transit (DART): A free bus that can be requested for its service area.
  • Pierce County rideshare:
    • Pierce Transit Rideshare: Sliding, daily or monthly fee for groups or 3-15 people to carpool together.
    • Piercetransit.org/rideshare
    • Pierce County SHUTTLE: Rideshare for those with disabilities that prevents them from riding traditional public transport.
    • 211: Community resource hotline that can provide assistance with basic needs, including transportation.
  • ORCA programs: ORCA LIFT: A reduced public transit fare for qualifying users. Subsidized Pass: Qualifying users receive a subsidized annual pass. ORCA Youth: People under the age of 18 ride for free and can receive a card through their high school.
