Under the Jeanne Clery Act and HEOA, Green River College is required to provide a timely warning or immediate notification of incidents and crimes, which have not yet been mitigated.

When an incident arises, we will keep you up to date to provide you with information for you to manage your personal safety and security. Campus Crime Alerts are released by the Green River Campus Safety Department when certain crimes are reported on Green River College's Clery Geography, and in compliance with federal law. These timely warnings provide information about campus safety situations, and allow campus community members to take precautions for personal safety. All crimes should be reported as soon as possible to Green River Campus Safety

DETAILS: Green River College is investigating an incident of Sexual Assault that occurred in the Student Union on Green River College’s main campus in April, 2026. The incident occurred in the restroom on the second floor of the Student Union and was reported by a student. The Title IX Office is investigating and coordinating with other College agencies.
If you have any information that might be helpful in this investigation, contact Green River College Campus Safety at (253)288-3350.  Green River College is providing resources to assist the individual involved in this incident and will continue to take actions to maintain the safety and security of the campus community.    
 
 
WHAT GREEN RIVER IS DOING: The Title IX Office is working closely with other GRC agencies in regard to the ongoing investigation. Safety measures are being implemented. 
 
 
WHAT YOU CAN DO: 
 
  • Walk in pairs or groups when possible.
  • Walk in well-traveled areas.
  • Be aware of your surroundings. If you feel uneasy or unsafe, go to a safe location and call a friend or the police at 911.
  • Let a friend or family member know if you are in a potentially dangerous situation so that they can monitor your whereabouts and check on you, when possible. 
  • Whenever you observe criminal activity or what appears to be criminal activity, IMMEDIATELY  call the police or Campus Safety at (253)288-3350.

Timely Warning: Motor Vehicle Theft/ GRC Main Campus/ CCA Parking lot (P15)

 

TIMELY WARNING:  Motor Vehicle Theft/ GRC Main Campus/CCA Parking Lot (P15)

 

Date:  11/12/2025

 

DETAILS:  The Auburn Police Department is investigating the Motor Vehicle Theft that occurred in the Campus Corner Apartments (CCA) parking lot P15 on GRC’s main campus on 11/12/2025, at approximately 3:08 AM. 

The student parked their car next to the ADA parking spots in P15 at approximately 12:00 AM on 11/12/2025 and it was discovered missing at 8:53 AM.  The vehicle was locked, and no keys were left inside at the time of the theft.  The suspect was a thin male, wearing a black baseball cap backwards, with light blue skinny jeans, white sneakers, dark hoodie, and a black backpack.

 

If anyone has information on the suspect or can identify him, do not make contact on your own but please contact Auburn PD immediately by dialing 911 or Green River Campus Safety at (253)288-3350.

 

WHAT GREEN RIVER IS DOING:  Campus Safety is working closely with APD with the ongoing investigation and receiving updates as they arrive.   Campus Safety is doing extra patrols in the affected area.

 

WHAT YOU CAN DO: 

•  Campus Safety recommends that you lock your vehicle and keep all valuables locked up or out of sight.

•   Be aware of your surroundings.

•   Park in well-lighted areas, if possible. 

•   Whenever you observe criminal activity or what appears to be criminal activity, IMMEDIATELY call the police or Campus Safety at (253)288-3350.
