Why did you choose Green River College?
I wanted to attend a college on the West Coast. I was also interested in 2 +2 program, because I heard that it is easier to transfer into one of the major universities from a community college. I chose Green River College because they have a very good transfer program and the staff are so friendly and responsive. I even had a Skype call with my advisor before I arrived and he helped me create an Education Plan to help me with my goal of transferring to one of the UC schools in California. Green River also has a Transfer Pathway Program with nearly 40 universities including to UC Irvine and UC Riverside.
What do you like most about Green River College?
There are number of things I like about GRC:
- Smaller class sizes
- Professors are really helpful – because the class sizes are smaller there is more one-on-one time with the professors and I can get quick feedback if I have a question.
- Student Life Activities – there are a lot of organized trips. For example, last month the college took us on a skiing trip to Crystal Mountain. It was so much fun!
- Green River has a brand new gym
- Recreation sports. I play basketball in my free time.
Would you recommend Green River College to a friend? Why?
Yes, because Green River offers you the same classes as a 4-year university. You can transfer anywhere from here. It’s also on the west coast and near Seattle.
