Summer Term is Off to a Flying Start!

On June 25th, staff and student leaders took new international students on a trip to Black Diamond Camp. Students enjoyed soaring through the trees, on a zipline, playing basketball, participating in arts and crafts, sitting by a campfire, and most of all making new friends.
You may be wondering what the "Day Trip' is all about. It is very similar to CORE but it's not overnight. Our International Student Leaders (ISA) and staff travel with our new students to the Black Diamond Camp for a day of fun-filled activities. According to Martha Koch, Student Activities Manager, "We arrived as strangers but left with new friends and wonderful memories!"
There were many activities that students could participate in throughout the day. As the day came to an end, students enjoyed s'mores around the campfire while student leaders serenaded them with guitar music.
According to one of the ISA's, Janet Chang, "The students had a lot of fun and it was really great to see them making friends."
On July 1st Green River staff took the new students on an adventure to the largest mall in Washington State, Westgate Southcenter Mall. Students had fun exploring the various shops and restaurants.
