Originally from Auburn, I attended Pacific Lutheran University and received a bachelor’s degree in Global Studies with a concentration in International Relations and German with a minor in Cultural Anthropology.

Following graduation I was awarded a Fulbright Fullbright Scholarship and taught English for a year in Leipzig Germany. By participating in school life, sharing meals and holidays with colleagues and saying “yes” to every offer that came my way, I felt like a member of the community.

After 3 years in Germany I returned home and began working in the International Programs Department at Green River College. I began organizing volunteer trips for international students at Green River as a way to give back to the community help students feel a part of their American hometown.
