Before joining the IEP team at GRC in 2004, Patrick had a chance to teach German as a teaching assistant during his graduate studies at the University of Tennessee. After receiving an M.A. in German/Teaching a Foreign Language, he had an opportunity to teach English to immigrants. This was very rewarding to him, so he decided to get a TESOL certificate in Barcelona, Spain. After that, he moved to Seattle, where he briefly worked for Amazon. However, he missed teaching which is why he applied for an adjunct position at GRC. He has taught levels 2-5, and he always enjoys learning from his students about their cultures. On the weekends, you will most likely find Patrick on the golf course, or trying out a new Szechuan restaurant.
