Grad to Gator: Your Fast Track to College Enrollment!

Cover of Grad to Gator Brochure

The Grad to Gator program is for high school seniors who are strongly thinking about attending Green River College. GRC staff visit your high school and provide guidance through the admissions application, placement, pre-advising, and financial aid process to prepare you for first quarter enrollment. The best part of the Grad to Gator program is that you get to enroll in classes before other new students during College Signing Day in May [you must attend this event to get priority enrollment].

Grad to Gator serves the Auburn, Kent, Enumclaw, Tahoma, Renton, and other nearby school districts.

The Grad to Gator program has four parts that occur between January and May of your Senior year:

Occurs at Your High School*
    • Information & Application session - learn about GRC and get help applying to the college.
    • Placement & Pre-Advising session - GRC staff review transcripts or Smarter Balance scores to place you into a Math and English level, and discuss what classes you should be registering for based on your degree of choice.
    • Paying for College session - learn about the options to fund your college education, and get assistance filling out the FAFSA or WASFA applications.
Occurs at Green River's Main Campus
    • College Signing Day - an opportunity to meet other new students and connect with GRC resources as you enroll in your first quarter classes. For high schools with over 5 students scheduled to attend College Signing Day, GRC will provide transportation to and from main campus for the event. We also provide lunch!

*Contact your high school's Career Center Specialist for when GRC staff will visit your school.

New Addition to the Grad to Gator Program!

Grad to Gator Peer Mentoring

Do you enjoy helping and guiding others? Peer Mentoring is a great opportunity to support other students as they start their college journey, while also learning and growing yourself. Our Peer Mentors are 1st and 2nd year GRC students who went through the Grad to Gator program when they started college. Students interested in becoming a Peer Mentor will go through training during their first year at GRC. Peer Mentors can assist with workshops at local high schools, College Signing Day, and/or campus tours, depending on what fits best with their class schedule.

If you're interested in becoming a Peer Mentor at GRC, email the Recruitment & Outreach Team at outreach@greenriver.edu or call us at (253) 288-3395.
