New College Students
Step 1: Complete Green River's Getting Started Steps
- Visit the Green River College Getting Started page.
- Apply to the College, activate your student accounts, complete English and math placement, and complete all other required enrollment steps.
Step 2: Schedule and attend a New Advisement & Enrollment Session
- You will receive an email to sign-up for NSAE after completing English and math placement.
- At NSAE, register for your first-quarter classes and learn about Green River resources.
Step 3: Review Nursing Program Admission Requirements
- Review the admission requirements, prerequisite courses, GPA requirements, and application deadlines for your intended nursing program.
Step 4: Meet with a Pre-Nursing Advisor
- Develop an academic plan.
Step 5: Complete LPN Program Requirements
- Only one prerequisite course may be outstanding when you apply to the LPN program.
Step 6: Apply to the Nursing Program
- Submit your application during the appropriate application period.
- Admission to the LPN program is competitive.
Step 7: Accept Your Offer and Attend Nursing Orientation
- If admitted, complete all required onboarding steps before beginning the program.
Transfer Students
Step 1: Complete Green River's Getting Started Steps
- Visit the Green River College Getting Started page.
- Apply to the College, activate your student accounts, and complete all other required enrollment steps.
Step 2: Submit Official Transcripts from Colleges Where You Completed Coursework
- Submit official transcripts from any college where you completed prerequisite or degree coursework.
- Once your transcripts have been evaluated, your transfer credits will be applied to your Green River record.
- For students who completed any prerequisite courses outside of the community and technical college system of Washington State, a completed official transcript evaluation is required to be on file with the College prior to the deadline of your nursing application.
Step 3: Review Nursing Program Admission Requirements
- Review the admission requirements, prerequisite courses, GPA requirements, and application deadlines for your intended nursing program.
Step 4: Meet with an Advisor
- Pre-Nursing: Career & Advising Center
- Pre BSN: Adam Brown (abrown@greenriver.edu)
- Review your transfer credit evaluation and academic progress.
Step 5: Complete any Remaining LPN or BSN Program Requirements
- Practical Nursing (LPN): Complete the 9 prerequisite courses.
- LPN-to-BSN: Complete the 12 prerequisite courses and maintain an active, unencumbered Washington State LPN license.
- Only one prerequisite course may be outstanding when you apply.
Step 6: Apply to the Nursing Program
- Submit your application during the appropriate application period.
- Admission is competitive.
Step 7: Accept Your Offer and Attend Nursing Orientation
- If admitted, complete all required onboarding steps before beginning the program.
