What is one thing you wish you knew about college before you started as a student?
I am thankful for the mentorship and support I received through programs like UNCF Portfolio Project and YMCA Black Achievers. They helped me every step of the way in the process of going to college. One thing that I wish I paid more attention to was student loans and the loans that my parents borrowed for me to attend undergrad. Come up with a plan to fund your education and apply to as many scholarships as you can. I eventually became in Resident Assistant at my college and that covered the cost of housing which helped reduce costs tremendously.
What do you like to do when you're not working?
I have two boys (2 and 5 years old) so when I’m not working, my husband and I are taking them to do fun activities especially now since we are home 24/7.
