Biography:

I was born in Cambodia but was raised in Tacoma, WA since the age of 4. I am the youngest in my family and the only on who received a college degree. I proud to say I am a first-generation student. I got into working in Higher Education because I recognized there were not a lot of staff, instructors, and administrators that did not look like me. I have had my struggles navigating the college system, and I had doubts about my ability to accomplish this task. Fortunately, I had a few mentors along the way that provided encouragement, inspiration, and that helped me accomplished earning a college degree. My goal in my current position is to do the same. I know some students might not know what they want to do or major, guess what? It's okay. College is all about discovering. I highly recommend connecting with staff, faculty, and school administrators because we are your resources and supporters. It's very important to build your support team when you start college. Most importantly, believe the impossible and remind yourself it is possible.
