Tim Broxholm, Program Director and Faculty

Tim Broxholm is a self-described "Edu-preneur" who is on a mission to: educate, engage, and inspire students to attain academic, personal, and professional excellence. As a former HR Director and current and business strategy coach and consultant Tim utilizes his expertise to help students develop the necessary competencies and connections to excel in the world of work. Tim is known for his innovative teaching methods, and in addition to his work at Green River, he partners with one of the country's leading learning science companies to innovate and develop the next generation of learning products.

Ed-Tech product development Tim holds a Masters of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Seattle Pacific University and a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing and Management from The University of Portland.

Jeff Perlot, Faculty

Jeff Perlot has taught business management, marketing, and entrepreneurship courses at Green River for over 10 years. During that time, he also spent 4 years as a counselor for Green River’s Small Business Development Center. Outside of Green River, Jeff’s recent work includes authoring a digital-only Introduction to Business product for a major publisher and development of a sports nutrition product that is routinely among the bestsellers on

Jeff’s main areas of interest are:

  • Instructional design for online/hybrid learning

When Jeff is not working, he can be found hanging out with his family, hiking, doing high-intensity interval training, and getting mocked for his ridiculously clean diet.

R.J. Amador, Faculty

R. J. Amador is a California native, social entrepreneur and an environmental policy specialist. Ask him about making glue out of recycled styrofoam! He brings experience transforming sustainable business models from theory into practice, and has worked in the carbon markets in Washington, DC. R. J. is also an officer and drilling reservist in the US Navy, leading teams of specialized personnel in mission critical efforts.

When he's not experiencing Washington's great outdoors or something sporty, R. J. is volunteering for the blind, reading, recording, and producing podcasts of National Geographic and Popular Science magazines for download through the Audio Internet Reading Service of Los Angeles (AIRS-LA) as he has done for years. 

R. J. holds a bachelor's degree in International Studies with specialization in Latin America, and a minor in Management from the University of California, Irvine, and a master's in Applied Economics from the University of Cambridge, where he focused on the uptake of renewable energy and energy efficiency systems globally. He is very excited to work with and for the students at Green River!

Philip (Tony) Pizelo, Faculty

In addition to his teaching duties, Tony is in his third year of a PhD program in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Seattle Pacific University. He holds an AA degree from Spokane Community College, a BA degree in Economics from Gonzaga University, an MA in Economics from Washington State University, and an MA in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Seattle Pacific University. He has over 25 years experience in financial industry leadership. He is married to Bonnie and together they have six children. In his spare time, he is rooting for the Seahawks, the Mariners, the Cougars, and the Bulldogs.

Kelly Walsh, Adjunct Faculty

Kelly is thrilled to be joining the Green River College team teaching the Integrated Marketing Communications course. A Northwest native, Kelly graduated from Washington State University in public relations and University of Portland with a master's in management communications. Kelly has blended her passion for storytelling, being outside and great gear into her REI workday for the past ten years.

Kelly's professional background includes social media campaign strategy, crisis communications, campaign strategy, branding strategy, product marketing, event planning, community outreach, non-profit communications and direct mail. She volunteers as a consultant for non-profits focused on meeting the needs of low-income individuals and families. A lover of vintage fashion, the arts and the outdoors; Kelly trades her 1950s heels for hiking boots on the weekends to volunteer for the National Park Service.
