coursework at institutions outside Washington State’s Community & Technical College
system are required to have a completed official transcript evaluation on file for
their intended nursing program by the application deadline for their intended program.

About LPN to BSN Program
Green River College’s LPN to BSN program is designed for Licensed Practical Nurses who are ready to take the next step in
their nursing careers. This pathway builds on your practical nursing experience and
prepares you to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)—opening doors to expanded roles, leadership opportunities, and greater professional
flexibility.
As a Registered Nurse, graduates are prepared to take on a broad range of responsibilities, including:
Delivering comprehensive patient care by assessing health needs, developing care plans, administering medications, and
providing treatments such as wound care
Collaborating with healthcare teams to coordinate safe, continuous, and patient-centered care
Educating and advocating for patients, helping individuals understand their health and supporting informed decision-making
Responding to emergencies, including performing CPR and other critical, life-saving interventions
Leading and supervising care teams, supporting LPNs, CNAs, and other staff while maintaining high standards of safety
and quality
This program is designed to support your growth from skilled practitioner to confident
nurse leader—equipping you with the knowledge, clinical judgment, and professional
preparation needed in today’s healthcare environments.

Schedule:The full-time BSN program follows a primarily evening schedule, with classes and labs
typically held on Mondays and Wednesdays; during clinical quarters, students will
have an additional clinical/simulation day each week. The final quarter consists of
a preceptorship with schedules varying by assigned clinical site and potentially requiring
up to 40 hours per week.Mandatory orientations required by our clinical partners,
such as Western State Hospital and Kindred, may also be scheduled outside of designated
class times. Students will be expected to attend these orientations as part of their
clinical requirements.

Length: 3 years (12 quarters)

Format: Hybrid
Schedule:The part-time BSN program follows a primarily Thursday schedule, with classes and
labs typically held during daytime and evening hours; during clinical quarters, students
will have an additional clinical/simulation day each week, and the final quarter consists
of a preceptorship with schedules varying by assigned clinical site and potentially
requiring up to 40 hours per week. Mandatory orientations required by our clinical
partners, such as Western State Hospital and Kindred, may also be scheduled outside
of designated class times. Students will be expected to attend these orientations
as part of their clinical requirements.

Up-to-date immunizations (no religious/philosophical exemptions)
Completion of all 12 prerequisite courses
