International Education Week
What is International Educaton Week?
We're excited to celebrate International Education Week (IEW) this year, November 17-21, 2025 with a full calendar of events! IEW is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. International education is all about expanding horizons, making connections, and establishing mutual understanding between people in the United States and other countries. IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education that's celebrated each year by individuals and institutions across the U.S.
Green River College will have a full week of programming open to GRC students, faculty, and staff to explore languages and cultures new to you and discover all the opportunities international education offers. Check back here at the beginning of November for the full calendar of events. Please email IPadvising@greenriver.edu with any questions about IEW at Green River.

- Culture Bite: India
- 3:30 - 4:30pm in SH-110
- Learn about Indian culture and try some Indian snacks - everyone is welcome to attend!
Tuesday, November 18
- Pizza with President Johnson -
- 12:00 – 1:00pm in IVD welcome center
- Come chat with GRC President Suzanne Johnson and enjoy a slice of pizza.
Wednesday, November 19
- Basketball Skills Competition: IP Staff vs. International Students -

Thursday, November 20
- Resume Basics for International Students – Gator Byte with Srey Chea and Josh Staffieri
- 12:00 – 1:00pm in CH-214
- Tips for how to make your American resume + learn about career advising resources at GRC
- Passport to the World journal craft with the ISAs
- 12:00 – 2:45pm, check ipgreenriver social media for the location
- Decorate a journal like a passport: add stamps, stickers, and notes from your friends. All supplies provided!
Friday, November 21
- Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) Field Trip: Asian Comics exhibit
- 12:15 – 6:00pm – free transportation from GRC

- Earn GRC credit while spending a quarter taking classes abroad! Hosted by the Washington state Community College Consortium for Study Abroad (WCCCSA).
