About the Program
The Nursing Assistant Certificate Program is a comprehensive and hands-on; designed to prepare individuals for a rewarding career in healthcare as certified nursing assistants (CNAs). This program is meticulously crafted to provide a solid foundation in theoretical knowledge and practical skills, equipping students with the competencies needed to deliver compassionate, safe, and patient-centered care. Throughout the program, students will engage in a blend of classroom instruction, labs, and supervised clinical experiences, ensuring a well-rounded and immersive learning environment.
Typical job duties for a nursing assistant include:
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Helping patients with mobility.
- Recording and monitoring patients' vital signs.
- Assisting with feeding patients who may have difficulty eating on their own.
- Communicating effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
- Documenting patient care activities and observations accurately.
Applications and Admissions
The Nursing Assistant program admits students quarterly. Students must meet all eligiblity requirments, and submit a Nursing Assistant application to be considered. The program is open until courses are filled.
Eligbility Requirements
- Apply to Green River College: Getting Started. Once an application is submitted, a ctcLink identification (ID) number will be issued through the email the applicant applied with.
- Must be 18 years of age or older within 3 months of program completion.
- Complete all required immunizations
- Complete the Nursing Assistant Application.
