This is a study program. Students must carry a 17-credit load and are expected to fully participate in all class activities. Students will earn 17 credits including Humanities 133 (5 credits), Hispanic Activities (Span 115, 2 credits) and 10 credits of Spanish Language and Literature (courses vary by student level). Courses are scheduled Monday through Friday. The weekends are free.
Course and Field Activities
A group of 10-12 US students will study with University of Oviedo faculty and one Green River College faculty. This cohort will attend class at the University of Oviedo’s Humanities campus Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a total of 130 hours over the four weeks. There will be two weekend excursions, one to the caves of Covadonga and the other to Santander including the museum of torture (total of 16 hours).
Participants must be 18 years or older, have completed Spanish 121, have an overall GPA of 2.7 and a 3.0 GPA for Spanish.
