Meet the Candidates for ASGRC President for 2022-2023

Shah Asraff khan

Hello, My name is Shah Asraff khan I am an international student from Singapore. I am currently a Biology major and I have been at Green River College for just over two years ago. I am choosing to run for Presidency as being involved on campus allows me to grow and mature as a person but aside from that I will be able to work alongside the school and be the voice that connects the students to the institution and not only allows for a more holistic learning environment that is diverse, inclusive and equitable but it will allow for the voices of each and every student to be heard.

Tygerr Recchia

I am your Vice President this year, and I currently live in Kent, Wa. I am also the President of the Court Reporters and Captioners on campus for the second year. However, I am from Birmingham, England originally. I spent much of my life as an entertainer traveling the world. I retired from performing professionally at forty-five. Being Vice President again this year will allow me to continue the work Ash and I started last year helping the students at Green River have the best learning experience possible. Our task of getting a new bill introduced for the OER Resoucres is a big item on my list if elected in 2022-2023.

I am currently volunteering my time with some Turkish captioners as an English subtitler for Alp Arslan Buyuk Seljuklu's television show. A captioning/subtitling project I have been trying to get off the ground for over two years. With the Turkish captioners' determination and love, we are bringing a new and more accurate English subtitled product to the Turkish people
