Campus Life Leadership Program grants are awarded on the basis of merit to individuals who will be Green River College students in the forthcoming academic year and have a demonstrated interest in student leadership. Student Leaders for the 2026-2027 academic year must be accepted for enrollment at Green River College in the fall of 2026 as a full-time student. Each of the Campus Life Leadership Program grants may amount to over $6,000 annually. Some positions may require non-paid spring leadership training will be held in June. Mandatory full-time summer training will begin on August 31st, 2026 for all student leaders, some positions may start on July 16 or August 24th. Starting dates will be communicated to you during the interview process.

Company Information: 

Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM), with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, is a group of student housing professionals focused exclusively on the management of housing communities owned by non-profits and/or highly affiliated with a university. 

Summary   

The Resident Assistant (R.A.) is a live-in student leader position committed to building a positive on-campus community environment in Student Housing that supports networking, shared living, and individual student personal and academic growth. This position has a major role in the lives of the residents through meaningful personal interactions, the implementation of programs, policies, and services at Green River College Student Housing. 

Because of the nature of the Resident Assistant role, Student Housing recognizes that not all candidates will possess all these skills at the time of application.  As such, we look for candidates who demonstrate a commitment to learning. Candidates should be open to receiving training and feedback from their supervisor and/or peers to be successful in this challenging and rewarding experience. 

The RA position is a nine (9) month commitment. The RA role is considered an essential position and may be required to support essential operations during emergencies, inclement weather, etc. at the direction of the professional staff. 

Essential Duties:     

Community and Interpersonal Development  

  • Plan, promote, and complete social and educational resident events or programs as designated. 
  • Complete all administrative functions related to resident events following procedures and timelines established by supervisor. 
  • Assist in the mediation of roommates and other interpersonal conflicts. 
  • Assist with resident issues and contact professional staff as needed. 
  • Assist and support residents in the completion of roommate agreements. 
  • Build and maintain community by establishing strong rapport and sense of respect with residents in your assigned buildings and the entire population of student housing Identify, assist, and provide referrals to assist residents with personal, academic, wellness, or other special needs. Be present and available within community. 
  • Partners with campus offices to provide engagement and support to students.  
  • Engage in a 1:1 manner with residents to support their experience 
  • Serve as the first line of engagement to any student or community issue. 

Community Standards & Policy Enforcement  

  • Serve “duty” or “on-call” (“primary” and “back-up) on a rotating basis. 
  • Serve long weekend of “duty” or “on-call” (“primary” and “back-up) on a rotating basis. 
  • Carry out responsibilities shutting down and securing the Townsend Center. 
  •  Responsibly respond to and document any incidents which might occur during your “duty” or “on-call” shifts. 
  • Assist and support with crisis incidents. 
  • Maintain confidentiality with all scopes of responsibilities. 
  • Adhere to all College policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Attend all in-services, meetings, and events as assigned. This will generally include bi-weekly meeting with supervisor and weekly staff meetings. 
  • Responsible for completing requested reports (duty log entries, room condition reports, incident reports, etc.) 
  • Distribute informational material as needed to residents. 
  • Support quarterly census procedures.Facility Management 
  • Assist with room condition assessments prior to Move-In and after Move-Out each semester. 
  • Assist with the opening and closing of the buildings. 
  • Conduct quarterly health, safety and maintenance inspections and follow-up accordingly. 
  • Report maintenance concerns for the community. 
  • Complete other facility management responsibilities as assigned. 

Front Desk / Office Responsibilities  

  • Remaining behind the front desk to monitor all building access. 
  • Answering the desk phones professionally. 
  • Distributing resident packages. 
  • Assisting residents with work order requests. 
  • Checking in/out loan keys to residents.  
  • Adhering to employment schedule and dress code. 
  • Enforcing policies / procedures of the residence halls and the university (including campus, state and federal regulations). 
  • Log and organize student mail and packages as a primary function of office shifts. 
  • Other tasks as assigned.   

 Duty 

  • Staff coverage/duty will be required during academic calendar break periods (holidays and extended time). 
  • Participate in an on-call duty rotation with RA staff after business hours and on weekends (requires walking through all buildings and holding/responding to a duty cell phone overnight)

Compensation  

This position will receive housing credit for the standard housing fee and will be paid 7 hours each week at a rate of $17.99 per hour. Domestic Resident Assistants are encouraged to meet with a member of financial aid to determine the impact, if any, on their financial aid award.

Job Description

Appointment: Fall Term - Spring Term

Job Summary

A GAB member is responsible for being part of a team that plans a variety of events and activities throughout the academic year.  Members of GAB will be responsible for planning and implementing weeklong events, recurring weekly events, and other events each quarter.  Programming efforts will focus on Arts & Culture, Special Events, Spirit Events, Volunteer Events, Wellness Events and the Gator Gives program.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Attend, facilitate and participate in weekly GAB meetings
  • Attend and actively participate in GAB hosted programs 
  • Facilitate the programming of activities of a diverse nature to entertain and educate students, staff, faculty, and the campus community 
  • Assist Student Life Promotions Assistant and Graphic Designer in developing a marketing plan for programs
  • Scheduling of rooms and equipment for GAB events/programs
  • Work to ensure that all required forms (i.e., contracts, purchasing requests, etc.) have been processed through the Office of Student Life
  • Attend the NACA regional conference

Organization Summary

The International Activities Team is housed within the departments of International Programs & Extended Learning (IPEL) and Student Life (SL), with a physical office location in the Student Union at GRC’s Auburn campus. Our team is composed of up to 10 International Student Ambassadors (ISAs). Additionally, up to three full-time and part-time professional staff members support ISAs by managing administrative responsibilities, providing supervision, and offering training and professional development opportunities. The mission of the International Activities Team is “To enrich the lives of international students by organizing activities that promote cultural exchange, social interaction, and personal growth.”

Job Summary

The International Student Ambassador (ISA) is responsible for planning a variety of events and activities throughout the academic year and summer, including during the term breaks in September, December, March, and June. Members of the ISA team are responsible for planning and leading welcome events for new international students, in addition to regularly programmed events to occur both on and off campus. Each year, the ISA team typically organizes about 80 events, with up to two events in a week.

Some activities will be planned together in collaboration with other departments or organizations at GRC. Programming efforts will focus on the needs and interests of international students, while also encouraging participation of local students. Members of the ISA team receive initial training in an annual intensive leadership development series alongside students from other Student Life program areas during early September, before the beginning of the fall term. Additional professional development and training opportunities will occur as needed or as available.

This position is a great opportunity for international students who:

· Enjoy helping and supporting fellow students, especially new international students attending orientation;

· Want to gain public speaking experience, including at large events with hundreds of attendees;

As a student leadership position that is designed to provide co-curricular, experiential learning opportunities, it is expected that not all candidates will possess skills or experience directly related to the ISA position at the time of applying. Primary ISA Responsibilities

Work 6-19 hours per week on event planning, promotion, and management during school days, evenings, and some weekends. This will include the following:

· Attend and participate in weekly ISA meetings.

· Manage the programming of diverse and varied activities, both on and off campus, to enhance GRC students’ sense of community.

· Plan and lead the quarterly new student welcome events (In-person Orientation for international students, New Student Adventure Trip, New Student Shopping Trip, and Cookie Social) that happen during the term breaks and within the first week of each term.

· Complete event planning forms (such as room reservations and purchase requests) and follow up to make sure they are processed by the Office of Student Life.

· Participate in weekly International Activities trainings, beginning July 16th 2026, in preparation for the Campus Life Leadership training program; must be physically present in the United States to attend the once per week training sessions.

· Participate in the annual Student Leadership trainings, beginning August 31st 2026, in preparation for the upcoming academic year; must be physically present in the United States to attend the full-time, 40-hour per week, training program.

· Support other sub-divisions of International Programs by completing special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

· Must be a current academic student, enrolled full‐time (12+ credits)

· Maintain F-1 international student status

· Must be in good standing according to student visa immigration regulations

· Maintain a 2.5 or above quarterly grade point average (GPA)

· Must be in the U.S. and eligible to begin work for Student Life Leadership program beginning July 16, 2026.

Preferred Qualifications

· Verbal proficiency in any of the following languages are not required but will be especially beneficial for serving our current largest international student populations at GRC: Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic.

· Will remain a GRC student for the full 2026-2027 academic year.

· Ability to obtain a Washington State driver’s license and drive a 12-passenger van on rare occasions, such as for the quarterly New Student Arrival Day Shopping Trip.

Working Conditions

· Work for extended periods at a desk or computer.

· Sometimes, this job requires lifting or moving materials up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation. ISAs may also pick up and deliver materials on campus.

· This position involves travel to off-campus activity worksites (transportation will always be provided) for outdoor activities, performances, museum tours, and sporting events, among other field trip categories, with or without accommodations.

ODEI Office Assistant

Job Summary 

An Office Assistant is responsible for being part of a team that connects students to the ODEI (Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) Program and introduces them to the programming, resources and services provided by the ODEI. Office Assistants will be responsible for managing the front-desk office duties, assist in overseeing the Book Loan Program, manage and create content for our social media, offer short-term referral services, and promote events from our Diversity Educational Series (DES). 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Attend, facilitate, and participate in weekly Office Assistant meetings  
  • Attend, facilitate, and participate in monthly All-Staff meetings  
  • Attend, facilitate, and participate in at least two (2) check-in meetings a quarter with direct supervisor  
  • Provide clerical work and deliver exceptional customer service

Job Summary 

This position will be responsible for assisting with marketing, promotions, and communication for ODEI (Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) events created through the Peer Navigators, Office Assistants, and ODEI Full-Time Staff through email, Canvas, social media, and physical postings. A successful candidate will coordinate various promotional efforts while staying in contact with ODEI full-time staff and student staff, while maintaining a robust content schedule. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Attend, facilitate, and participate in weekly Office Assistant meetings  
  • Attend, facilitate, and participate in monthly All-Staff meetings  
  • Attend, facilitate, and participate in at least two (2) check-in meetings a quarter with direct supervisor  
  • Meet weekly with supervisor to monitor progress

Job Summary  

A Peer Navigator is responsible for being part of a team that connects students to the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI), introduces them to our services and mentors GRC students. Peer Navigators will be responsible for mentoring a cohort of GRC students enrolled in our ODEI programs (which includes the ISSC and Pono affinity programs), assist students in navigating campus resources and planning events as part of the Diversity Educational Series (DES).   

Primary Responsibilities   

  • Attend, Facilitate and participate in weekly Peer Navigator meetings 
  • Attend, facilitate, and participate in monthly All-Staff meetings 
  • Attend, facilitate, and participate in at least two (2) check-in meetings a quarter with direct supervisor 
  • Create, plan and implement mentor sessions 
  • Recruit and promote Peer Navigator mentorship program 
  • Schedule student appointments with mentee cohort

The ASGRC President is the primary advocate for student interests to the Green River faculty and administrators.  The powers of the President shall be to determine general executive policy.  The President also appoints committees and boards which are subject to the approval of the Executive Board.  The president appoints students for faculty, administrative, and trustee committees with consent of the Executive Board. The President signs or vetos all legislation passed by the Executive Board within ten academic days of passage, or they shall automatically take effect.  The President can perform all duties necessary to carry out executive policy related to student interests. 

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Be the Face of Student Government 
  • Represent the Student Voice and present monthly report at Board of Trustee Meetings 
  • Chair the Executive Board of ASGRC  
  • Co-Chair the Commencement Speaker Committee 
  • Coordinate regular meetings with the Student Board of Trustee member  
  • Serve as a member of the College Council  
  • Determines general executive policy  
  • Motivate and recognize the achievement of officers 
  • Facilitate all meeting of the organization and serve as official representative 
  • Plan, delegate, and evaluate, set goals and create ideas, tone, and direction 
  • Communicate ideas and information and appoint committees and task forces 
  • Preside over and coordinate the officer transition process  
  • Mediate conflict within the organization 
  • Appoints students to committees and boards

  • Fulfill up to twenty (20) hours each week and generally be available to hear concerns from both the ASGRC members and the wider student body. 
  • Work at the Front Desk in the Student Life Office or Information Center in the Student Union in scheduled shifts. 
  • Work with the Director of Student Life to provide opportunities for group development and leadership growth for Executive Officers. 
  • Regularly touch base with the Dean of Students and College President to keep them updated on things going on within ASGRC and to advocate for student interests. 
  • Complete a transition notebook and files by May 1st and identify area of growth within ASGRC.  

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Must be enrolled in 6 credits 
  • Maintain a 2.00 quarterly GPA   
  • Ability to work for extended periods at computer workstation, lab bench, etc.

ASGRC Finance Coordinator

Job Summary 

The ASGRC Vice President of Finance shall be the chairperson of the ASGRC Club Funding Council.  They will serve as chair of the 522-budget committee. They will help review and set governing documents for the Club Funding Council. 

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Chair the ASGRC Club Funding Council 
  • Chair 522 budget developing committee meetings 
  • Review usage of the 522 Budget on a monthly basis. 
  • Serve on the Green River Technology Fee Committee 
  • Review all governing documents of the Club Funding Council in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Student Life. 
  • Serve on the Executive Board of ASGRC

The ASGRC Advocacy Coordinator shall actively work to represent the voice of the student body.  Serve as a student representative to the College Council.  They shall work to represent the students both on and off campus. Work with the office of Student Life to register students to vote. 

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Actively work to hear and represent the voice of the Green River student body. 
  • Host opportunities, in events and sessions, to hear the needs of the Green River College student community. 
  • Be the Washington Community and Technical College Student Association (WACTSA) representative for Green River and attend all WACTSA meetings. 
  • Serve as a voting member on the Technology Fee Committee 
  • Serve as a member on the Gator’s Care Committee 
  • Serve as a member of the College Council 
  • Coordinate Voter registration efforts on campus with the Director of Student Life

The ASGRC Marketing Coordinator shall work to let all students know about ASGRC. They will serve as Ex-Officio Members of the Club Funding Council. They will work with Clubs and Organizations, and other ASGRC entities, to work on disseminating information about upcoming events and meetings. They will serve, in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Student Life, as the Social Media Manager for the Student Life Office. 

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Spread the word of ASGRC to all students 
  • Create and execute a Marketing Plan for ASGRC 
  • Oversee the Social Media presence of the Student Government 
  • Oversee event marketing for ASGRC and for Clubs 
  • Attend Club Funding Council meeting as a non-voting member. 
  • Work collaboratively with the Student Life Promotions Assistant 
  • Maintain and ensure physical media, such as tv screens and flyer boards, are up to date.

  • Co-Chair the Club Council with the Assistant Director of Student Life 
  • Serve as a voting member of the Club Funding Council 
  • Organize and host events on behalf of ASGRC 
  • Attend meetings of other groups/departments (ie: GAB, ISA, etc) to help coordinate student involvement efforts. 
  • Help Clubs to complete paperwork for Budget Requests  
  • Serve as a voting member on the Commencement Speaker Committee
