Meet the Coaches
Nikayla Milby | Head Coach

Nikayla Milby (originally Copenhaver) is a Washington native, born and raised in Renton,
Washington. She played for Washington Premier FC, where her team was once in the top
8 ECNL teams in the nation, and for Liberty High School, where she won 2 state titles.
After high school, she played for the University of Wyoming women’s soccer team from
2020 to 2024; while there, her team won the Mountain West Conference, and she was
part of several record-setting games. Nikayla received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal
Justice and Psychology and a Master's degree in Business Administration.
After graduating, Nikayla realized she could not be away from her greatest passion
in life — soccer — and dedicated herself to becoming a coach. She is now a head coach
at WPFC and has coached at Sheridan High School in Wyoming, Kentwood High School in
Washington, and was briefly a volunteer coach at Pacific Lutheran University. She
now also plays semi-professional indoor soccer and in the USL W league with the Tacoma
Galaxy.
Nikayla hopes to be a positive role model for young female athletes and to help them
develop not only as great soccer players, but as students and human beings as well.
Nikayla prides herself on creating positive, successful team environments that foster
growth, competitiveness, and a love of the game. Nikayla is excited to bring her experience
and passion with her to Green River and to bring new life and energy into the program!
Nikayla’s favorite soccer team is Liverpool FC, and her hobbies include reading, fishing,
camping, and watching movies with her husband Jordan.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nikayla as the next head coach of our women’s soccer program,” said Green River Athletics Director Shannon Percell. “She brings a strong playing background, coaching experience, and a genuine passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field. We are excited for the energy and leadership she will bring to Gator Soccer and look forward to the future of the program under her guidance.”
