Program Fee
Option A: Shared Homestay $7,510
This option includes accommodations in a twin room in a homestay, including continental breakfast five days a week, kithcen/laundry access, and WiFi. Towels are NOT included. Optional upgrade for daily dinner in homestay ($725)
Option B: Shared Apartment $9,210
This options incluides shared accommodations in a fully furnished apartment in central London with kitchen/laundry access, and WiFi. No meals are included.
Both Program Fee Options Will Include:
Two-day orientation program consisting of an orientation meeting with American Institute of Foreign Studies (AIFS) staff, workshops on cultural differences, safety and security and travel, student information packet including comprehensive student handbook; local area information; welcome reception and a half-day guided sightseeing tour of London by private coach. Other items include:
- London transport pass
- Membership in college clubs and societies, and events
- Local public library membership
- Cultural activities including day trips, walking ours, theater performances and sporting events (additional fees may apply)
- International Student Identity Card (ISIC)
- Optional internship or volunteer placements
- 24-hour emergency support services
- Medical insurance
Not Included
Airfare, a refundable damage deposit, optional medical insurance upgrade and optional personal effects coverage passport or visa fees if applicable, meals other than those indicated on the itinerary, personal expenses, college tuition, textbooks, additional/optional field trips or excursions required by faculty and anything not specified.
Optional Transportation Package
On a space-available basis, students may purchase the optional transportation package consisting of round-trip airfare (Seattle-London-Seattle) and round-trip transfers overseas between the airport and the housing in London for an additional fee, which excludes mandatory U.S. government and airline-imposed departure taxes, fees and fuel surcharges for which students will be billed separately. Flight prices are subject to change and require a minimum of 12 students. Participants wishing to purchase the flight must notify AIFS in writing in advance. Participants wishing to cancel from the flight must notify AIFS in writing by (date TBA). Cancellation penalties will apply. Tickets are non-refundable after this date.
Optional Scotland Excursion
An optional four-day, three-night excursion to Scotland will be offered for a supplemental fee. This includes round-trip train transortation between London and Edinburgh, three nights accommodation in hostels (one each in Edinburgh, Loch Ness and on the Isle of Skye), a three-day guided bus tour to the highlands and islands of Scotland, two evening meals and the services of an AIFS staff member throughout the excursion.
Optional Cultural Activities
An optional cultural program of subsidized extra-curricular activities including five Friday day trips (such as Oxford, Stonehenge with Salisbury, Bath, Brighto and Stratford-Upon-Avon), four theater events, a football or rugby match and a walking tour will be available.
Information About Financial Aid
Many students are eligible to apply for financial aid, grants and loans to assist with the costs of the London program. Early application is essential. Contact your home institution's financial aid office promptly if you are interested in this possibility. Be sure to identify yourself as a potential London program participant.
