Determine your funding

  • Find all options for funding your education at , including the STEP payment plan, Veterans benefits, WASFA, and Workforce Education.
  • Financial aid priority deadlines: fall (March 15), winter (October 15), spring (January 15), summer (April 15). A complete application requires:
    • FAFSA; fill it out online at fafsa.gov. Green River's school code is 003780.

Apply for Admissions by calling Enrollment Services

  • Call Enrollment Services at 253-833-9111, ext. 2500 or stop by the office on the 2nd floor of the SA building.
  • Activate your required . All Green River communication will be sent to your Green River student e-mail account.

Determine your course placement

  • If you have attended other colleges or universities and would like to use those credits at Green River, you must request official transcripts from the other colleges or universities attended to be sent to Green River. Transcripts can be sent to: Enrollment Services - 12401 SE 320th St., Auburn, WA 98092-3622.
  • Submit a form to Enrollment Services. Results will be emailed to your Green River student email in approximately four weeks.
  • Returning students may need to reestablish course eligibility if they did not receive credit for an English or math class or if it has been more than 2 years since initial placement was determined.
    • Course placement can be determined through various means including high school coursework or assessments, college level coursework, and placement assessments. Visit Course Placement for more information including preparation resources.
    • Placement assessments are available on a drop-in basis at the Welcome Desk and by appointment at the Enumclaw or Kent Campus. Find more information at the .

Complete advising and registration

  • All students transferring to Green River must complete Student Orientation to Advising and Registration (SOAR). SOAR sessions are available online for transfer students. If you prefer to do an in-person SOAR, contact the Welcome Desk at 253-333-6000.
  • To access online SOAR, use your Green River student email to send a message to soar@greenriver.edu. Include: your name, Student ID#, and the reason for taking online SOAR (transferring to Green River).
    Complete online SOAR and pass the quiz at the end to receive your PIN number in your Green River student email.
  • Once you complete online SOAR and have your PIN number, you are able to register for classes.
  • If you need additional advising assistance you can make an appointment with an advisor in the Career and Advising Center, 253-833-9111, ext. 2641.

Confirm online

  • View your schedule to confirm your official registration record.
  • Remove yourself from any unwanted class waitlists.
  • Confirm tuition and fees are paid in full or your funding source is in place.
  • Check your Green River student e-mail on a regular basis.
